Department Spotlight – Science Department
The Science Department is happy announce that we have hired Patrick Carter, a veteran teacher from Illinois. He will be teaching Biology and our Experimental Physical Science class next school year. He is replacing Mason Wiebe who will be entering the Peace Corp this August. We will miss Mason.

The Chemistry Team will be doing their annual "tie dye" to end the school year. Students look forward to this event each year.

We have had another very successful year in the Science Department. We would like to thank each parent for their support of our programs. We all look forward to working with your children again next year!

2006 Yearbook Distribution
The 2006 yearbook will be distributed to students on Monday, May 15th from 2:13 until 4 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Students must have some form of photo ID to claim their book.

After the main distribution, books will be available May 16th and 17th from 6:30-7 a.m., at lunch and after school until 3 p.m. in Journalism, Room E8. Thursday, May 18th, books will be available before school and at lunch. Books not claimed by lunchtime on Thursday, May 18th, will incur a late pickup fee.

2007 Yearbook Pictures
Student portraits for the yearbook will be taken at schedule pickup in August. Students who miss this day will be able to get a photo on Retake Day. One of these days is critical if the student’s photo is to be included in the 2007 Yearbook.

Senior yearbook pictures are taken by local professional photographers. An information packet was mailed to current juniors. If your student did not get a packet containing photographer ads and the yearbook Senior Options/Biography form, they are available in the main office. Yearbook is offering 3 Options for senior pictures; be sure to read the packet carefully. You may e-mail Mrs. Crozier with questions.

Prom and After Prom
Prom is Saturday, May 6th, from 8pm - 11pm at Invesco Field. If you haven’t pre-purchased tickets, the cost is $35 at the door. Please park in Lot J and the entrance should be marked to club level.

Since the AHS Prom is taking place the same evening as a Rapids soccer game, we encourage you to follow the directions noted below and plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early to avoid any major delays. Once you enter the parking lot, you will need to stop for the stadium parking attendants. You will need to identify yourself as an attendee for the Arapahoe Prom to avoid paying the parking fee.

If you are traveling Northbound on I-25: Exit at 17th Avenue and at the first stop sign is Bryant, where you will turn Right (north). Take your first available left (west). Your first parking lot entrance will be Parking Lot J. Take a left into J and then drive to the far South end of J. Depart your car and walk up to Gate 2.The security person will guide you in the direction to the West Club Lounge.

If you are traveling Southbound on I-25: Exit 23rd Ave/20th Ave, travel down the frontage road (south) to where the Red Lion Hotel will be directly in front of you. At the stop sign, turn Left onto Bryant St. continue straight and immediately on your right will be Parking Lot J. Take a right into J and then drive to the far South end of J. Depart your car and walk up to Gate 2. The security person will guide you in the direction to the West Club Lounge.

From Colfax or Federal Blvd: Due to the high volume of Cinco De Mayo traffic, along with the Colorado Rapids traffic, it is strongly recommended that attendees for the Arapahoe High School Prom utilize Interstate 25 (I-25) only. Traffic along Federal Boulevard and Colfax Avenue is expected to be heavily congested and may cause significant delays.

After Prom will be at AHS from 12:00 am until 5:00 am. Students must remain at After Prom until at least 4:00 am. Ticket prices are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
