Department Spotlight – Science Department
The Science Department is wrapping up another great year. Our Chemistry Team will be participating in our annual Tie-Die where each Chemistry student will be able to create their own t-shirt in lab. It’s a fun event that our students really look forward to. We all want to again thank Roger Bates and Anne Purvis for their many years of service to Arapahoe High School as they will be retiring at the end of the school year. We hope to all continue the excellence that each of them have demonstrated over the years.

Final Weekly Warrior
This will be the final Weekly Warrior. Next year the content that typically appeared in the Weekly Warrior will be available via the new AHS website.

Family and Consumer Sciences News
Please be aware that a very important class was left off the master schedule for next year. Independent Living is offered second semester, 1st hour, on Tuesday and Thursday. This elective is perfect for all juniors and seniors looking to move out on their own in the near future. We cover information on careers, budgeting and finances, apartment rental, dealing with roommates, obtaining insurance, purchasing and maintaining a car, clothing care, and healthy eating and grocery shopping. Plan to take this great course next spring!

Two other classes that many of you might not be aware of are our year long courses in Interior Design and Fashion Design. These career oriented classes are offered on Monday-Wednesday-Friday and are 1st and 2nd hour. Students should sign up for both semesters at arena scheduling. Both courses are very project-oriented and are equivalent to an entry level college course. For more information on these two dynamic classes please refer to the Pathfinder or see Mrs. Rains in the Family and Consumer Sciences office.
