With gas prices being so high, why DRIVE IN when you can DIVE IN! FBLA is throwing a DIVE IN movie Wednesday, October 26th. What’s a DIVE IN movie? Come watch Finding Nemo while floating on rafts in the school pool. Tickets are $4 in advance or $5 at the door. Tickets are for AHS students only and include games, movie and raft. Tickets are limited so act fast! Doors open at 6 for belly flop and cannonball contests, movie starts at 6:30. DIVE IN for fun!
Department Spotlight – Science Department
The Science Department has added three new members this school year. Mason Wiebe who is originally from Oklahoma has a B.S. in Environmental/Outdoor Recreation from CSU. He also has a Masters in Education from CSU. This is his first teaching job. Micki Lillie attended Briar Cliff College in Sioux City Iowa and graduated with a B.S. in Biology and Secondary Education. She obtained her Masters from Wayne State University in Science Instruction and Curriculum. For the past 8 years she has taught high school science in Sioux City. Finally, Missy Marchino has spent the past nine years raising a family. Before that she was a teacher at Heritage High School where she taught Freshman science as well as Chemistry. We are very happy to have all three of these outstanding teachers in our department.
The Chemistry Team has their annual Mole Day scheduled for Monday October 24th. They will be performing many demonstrations in celebration of Avogadro’s Number.
